I’m stuck on figuring out which is Ian and which is Grayson. The information given for the two of them is just the amount they spent. Either or can be either 3.1 carats or Botswana which is 2.8 carats. What am I missing here?

Look at the last clue. The second-largest diamond isn't $4,090 nor is it Russian.

Oh, I read that as 2.5 carats being the second largest, but that makes sense. Thank you!
