Stephen, I have to thank you for the stories that come with the new puzzles. The details are more poetic and the scenarios are more inventive than in most of the earlier puzzle stories. It seems like you had fun writing them, and they are definitely fun to read.

I would love to know how the guest records are decided. Sometimes they are easy to beat but other times very difficult.

I agree, the new puzzle stories are a nice touch. Makes solving feel less like a chore and more like a little journey. I've noticed the guest records too—some days I beat them easily, other days I'm nowhere close. Keeps things interesting though. Would be cool to know if it's based on real player stats or just random.

They are "decided" when someone who is not logged beats the puzzle in that amount of time.

No they have definitely been set right at the start before anyone had played the puzzles.

Title: Need help - what to do when these block shapes keep appearing?

I've been stuck in Block Blast for days. The problem is, I keep getting blocks like the long 1x5 and the 2x2 square over and over. No matter where I place them, my grid fills up fast and I lose.

Is there a specific strategy for dealing with frequent long pieces and square blocks? Should I save certain areas of the grid for them? Or just accept that some runs are unlucky?

Any tips would help. I'm tired of restarting every few minutes.
