Thanks for catching that, I've fixed the max points for Traditional Sudoku to be back closer to 650. However the scoring system now more heavily considers puzzle difficulty and comparative time elapsed so fewer puzzles will reach the maximum 650 threshold now.

It looks like the newest update removed cell highlighting, so other instances of the same number no longer get highlighted when you click on a square. Would it be possible to fix this?

I'm working on an "options" page where players can customize the board behavior (including same-cell highlighting).

Noticing some of the month's high score page, many of the users are showing as the last played date as 1969. Are they AI bots running up the score, or is there some backend setting blocking timestamping their games?

Thanks for catching that! Nothing nefarious other than my poor coding skills - I will release an update this afternoon that should fix this issue.

No, I'm not using AI. I just select difficult puzzles instead of insane, and I aim for puzzles that have average solve times below 900 seconds. My last puzzle took me 725 secs because I haven't played in a few days. The auto pencil option is where my time is picking up. When i get in the zone, i see the patterns quicker. And, I'm a lady in my 40's, not smart enough to use AI

Also, I'm just trying to best myself. I keep my own spreadsheet with my times and scores (total nerd engineer). I'm glad they adjusted the scoring to account for my lower level of difficulty.

Scoring pettern should be as the Admin has really upgraded the system as now. It's really not easy to score now and many many have been disappointed playing so little participation observed in March 2026. System scoring should be linked to punishment as is now on mistakes and high scoring in 650s for insane irrespective of mistakes or number of 'checks' was somehow one sided. Where are the competitors now? Even if 'difficult' variant let the February 2026 numero uno come to field! Initially very difficult but the upgraded system is now is really 'competitive'. Oh My God!

I'm glad that the system is at least better than before, I remember the old system was pretty awful for me, the other sudoku variants aren't really my cup of tea, but at least I have the option of doing them if I get bored.

Is there a difference anymore between difficult and insane puzzles? I am selecting the "Difficult" level, but when I get my results it says that its "Insane".

I don't. I would think if I used AI I would be a lot faster.

But I agree, I am also confused about the scoring system. I have had one puzzle where I scored 661 (first time above the previous 650 max) but most of the time it's in the 400 or 500's regardless of if I set a time record.

Has anyone played the consecutive sudoku? Its a next level challenge, but will destroy my stats. I've played a few games and enjoy it, but i cant score above 10 points because it takes too long for me to solve. I don't see the patterns yet. Just curious if anyone else is having success
