If you leave a puzzle to complete it later, does it stop the timer from running?

I made some code changes that might help fix this problem - please let me know if you continue to experience it.

It happened again using Vivaldi (Chrome). It occurs when I make a make a mistake by moving off the acrostic page. When I move back the letters that I have entered are gone and if I 'return' to the puzzle no letters are there. Until about a week ago even when I made this mistake, the letters were still there.

Hmm - I just tested a puzzle and it seemed to remember my state on both refresh and recent games. What browser are you using when this happens for you?

One thing to note is that the puzzle state is only saved something like every 15-20 seconds, so it isn't an instant thing - if you fill out a couple of words quickly at the start and do a very quick refresh it is possible that it wouldn't have enough time to set the save state.

A few months ago a change was made that provided the semi-filled grid when you resumed a puzzle via 'recent games'. It also provided the puzzle as it was if you accendently back up your browser. This is no longer the case. No when you use recent games you get a totally blank puzzle,
