Many thanks! I ran our improved clue validator against this puzzle just now and it came to the same conclusion (remove clue 7), so I'm optimistic we've got this problem solved. As I said in the earlier post I'm still running tests on the improved clue sets but should have them live on the site within the week. It will remove unnecessary clues from about 11% of our puzzles.

These puzzles are addicting! I love the logic puzzles I started with on puzzle baron, but I enjoy these conspiracy puzzles even more. Thank you for a wonderful website!

#48106 is an example of a puzzle where the hints about edges and total guilty could be combined into one hint about interior suspects.

Thanks Anachronismatic! I've added this to the list of possible new clue types for the next update.

In puzzle #53147, clue 6 doesn't seem needed. (I can't believe I caught one of these!)

Ah, this is an interesting case... the puzzle can physically be submitted (as correct) without clue 6 because all guilty parties on the grid have been revealed... but without clue 6 (which tells you the remaining 3 unknown people on the grid are innocent) you wouldn't actually know that the puzzle was complete, and wouldn't know that you could click submit, as there's no "total guilty people" clue included. So I think in this case clue 6 is actually needed to properly solve the puzzle, even if the mechanics of the online version don't actually require you to physically mark anyone as a result of that clue. Its only usefulness is in telling you that you have already revealed all guilty parties.

Definitely a gray area, thanks for catching that!

After playing, I went to the Recently Played tab. They are all id'ed by number there.

Could the “Restart puzzle” button also reset the markings on the rules so I don’t have to manually go through and tap on all the rules I crossed out?

I think clue #7 in puzzle #69370 is unnecessary? I don't think I even read it before submitting.

Hmm, I only get this far before I get stuck (without resorting to using clue 7). Where did you go from here?

Great suggestion - added now. Thanks!

Oops I meant clue 8, not clue 7, but now that I'm re-doing it I'm realized I do actually need Clue 8 as well - must have clicked on Zane early enough on that I didn't even realize! My bad.
