Cryptograms keeps being "unresponsive"

I've been using crytograms for awhile now and I love it! Unfortunately on a new laptop it repeatedly gives a cryptogram is unresponsive message to the point where it's almost unplayable, as well as seemingly overheat my laptop. Does anyone know how to fix this or will I have to return to playing on another device?
