smoochie,
Honest question here, looking for an honest answer. I don't want some snarky response about how "rude" I am...
Why do you feel it necessary to point it out and make a new post every time you see someone has a solving percentage of over 100? Since this is an item of irritation for many people here, don't you think the admin is already well aware of the issue and doing what he can to fix it? I'm sure he appreciates the unnecessary amount of time and energy you place in finding these errors... nothing can be fixed if no one is made aware... but Wouldn't sending a simple message directly to the admin be more effective than cluttering up the forum?
I'm just trying to understand what motivates you.

I've sent messages to the admin, and sometimes get a reply - sometimes not.
He does look at what is posted on the forums and does act on it - depending on what it is.
I'm sorry these postings disturb you.
I know you do not share our fixation with success rate and its associated competition. I know you find our competitive focus to be silly.
I always felt that the forums are a place to both air our beefs and at times to make the admin aware of issues. Perhaps it is less burdensome for one person to post on the forum and the others see it, than for a dozen of us to individually e-mail the admin because we do not realize someone else has already brought an issue to his attention. Stephen has spoken up in some instances where he felt the forums were not being used properly. I believe he will do so again, if indeed these postings are not the best way to make him aware of things.
Please feel free to ignore any forum posts regarding problems with the success rate measurements and competition.

you oldsters are amusing!
Hahaha, they don't disturb me... I just think it's unnecessary when you could just send what you find to the admin. Pretty simple really.
But I suppose we can just file this as another example of how making a simple suggestion gets taken in the wrong way. No one could have said "Thanks for the suggestion but this works for us" or "We've tried that and find making a posting in the forum is more effective" ... instead you need to be condescending pricks? Climb down off of your pedestal and lighten up!
The competition aspect isn't something that I completely disregard or find "silly". Obviously, as a registered member here, I play in competitive mode. Just ask bansai!! How many messages have we exchanged in regards to who will have the fastest time for the month? Truth be told, sometimes nothing pleases me more in a day than to see that I've beaten his fastest time for a puzzle. So PLEASE... continue to try and criticize how I don't buy into the whole competition side of this site because I do! I'm just not obsessed with it because I have a life (except for when I'm at work when any and all distractions are welcome throughout the day).
Anyway... do whatever you want, as you people are clearly too set in your ways to even consider someone else's viewpoint or suggestion... Can't wait until I'm a stodgy old woman! So by all means... complain on!!

I guess we all have different thoughts
Hi Ferry,
Not sure if 50 makes me an oldster, but I feel I can share my perspective with you. I play for both speed AND accuracy. While I play in competitive mode, I am really only here to improve my own scores. I am not overly concerned with the scores of others.
When I see a score of 100.24%, I know it is not possible. I know it's some kind of computer glitch. I know that Stephen has probably already seen or been informed of it, and I am not bothered by it. The people with the glitches have never been in the trophy showcase with a score OVER 100%.
It might bother some people on here more than others. I guess I have more important things to be concerned with right now (my younger sis has stage IV colon cancer).
The forums are a place to express our opinions...your questions are valid and non-threatening.
Happy solving!

Actually, I was addressing the subject in an adult manner, in the apparently mistaken assumption that I was dealing with an adult. Instead I find I am dealing with a child with a tendency toward taking offense and name-calling.
Since you seem not to have understood, let me try again to explain it again.
I’ve e-mailed the admin about these issues in the past. The forums work better because several of us are concerned, and when one person posts, we all know the admin has been informed. We need not have several people e-mailing about the same issue, and the admin need not receive several e-mails about the same issue.
Since you also seem to have a convenient memory, let me remind you that in your posts some time back, you used the exact words “silly” and “ridiculous” to refer to my concern about the potential unfairness of the scoring.
For future reference, this IS condescending, which unfortunately is as nice as I can be after being called a “prick”.

I really don't understand why people are so upset about this. Everyone who looks at a score that's above 100% knows it's just a mistake. I haven't noticed that it's affected the end of the month rankings for anyone.
It's definitely not the fault of anyone whose score is listed incorrectly.
Anyway, I think a much worse problem would be having a score that's lower than it should be.

I don't know how the over 100% happens. If I did, I'd tell Stephen in hopes he could prevent it. I don't know that it is anything someone is "doing", but it seems to happen regularly to a few specific individuals.
As you say, if they register over 100%, that will get fixed at month end, no harm, no foul. There is another scenario however. What if that person legitimately fails to complete a puzzle, putting them under 100%, then gets glitched back to 100%? Alternatively, if they get glitched to over 100%, they can afford to "miss" a difficult puzzle and still be shown with no misses. The first scenario appeared to happen a while back, and that individual then took third place on success rate for that month. That made me upset, because they got an honor they did not appear to earn or deserve - because of the glitch.
When I protested at that time, Ms. Ferry told me I was being "silly" and "ridiculous", and said I should lighten up and not take it so seriously.
Whatever. She is entitled to her opinion, and I am entitled to protest if I think something is unfair.
Since Stephen does not seem to review the success rate except at month end, but since he does look at the forum postings, they are one way of letting him know there is an issue to be corrected. To me that is more efficient than either wondering if someone else has notified him, or having multiple people notify him.

Maradnu:
You make a very good point that I hadn't considered. The maintaining of a 100% solve rate although missing a puzzle would be unfair, and I wasn't aware that anyone had actually received a prize unfairly because of this.
The glitches are very frustrating. Personally, I would love it if the double-loading on puzzles could go away. I almost had a heart attack when I realized my 100% solve rate was gone because I forgot to check statistics.
