  • 104 quote authors who are all actually Terri Guillemets

I just stumbled on the comment thread for a quote from "Cinnamon Stomberger," in which we all wondered who that author was. (Best guess: "Neil Young could be happy with her for the rest of his life" - Barnabas.) This was the thread that led me to the website where the actual author, Terri Guillemets, confesses to 104 delightful pseudonyms -- some of which, including Cinnamon herself, appear as attributions on Puzzle Baron's crypto-quotes, which is why I'm posting the full list here in the forum.

What follows is the whole statement from Terri Guillemets, from her website "The Quote Garden."
Her original post lives here: https://www.quotegarden.com/tg-noms-de-plume.html

    Who Is This Author?

In my younger days I wrote under several pseudonyms. Although I no longer use these, I’m providing them for reference because there are still many quotes out there with these pen names and I continue to get questions about the mysterious authors. I apologize if your searches for these imaginary people caused you much time or struggle. Every name below is a pseudonym for Terri Guillemets. Some of the names are characters from stories I wrote and the quotations attributed to them are lines they said in the story.

Q, X and Z pseudonyms are missing. (Could they be? Quentin Crisp, Xavier Cugat and Zsa Zsa Gabor? Enquiring minds want to know.)

So now, we've unmasked Astrid Alauda and Carrie Latet. Thanks, Llapp!

Xavier Cugat doesn't go by that name anymore. He decided, some time in the 80's, that people weren't taking him seriously because of it and so, since then, he's gone by Xavier Cugat Mellencamp.

Synonymous and Fudi, you brought tears to my eyes, I laughed so much. LLapp, thanks for this post!

I can die happy now, you guys. I have been making that joke every single time Xavier Cugat has come up in conversation somehow since I was about 19 years old!! So I've told it like 8 times so far. I'm 57 now. (I've just needed the right audience for it, clearly!)

Thanks for the great post, Llap! Terri sounds like a scamp. I like how she just made up names in some cases, i.e. "Jareb."
BTW, is your screen-name short for "live long and prosper"? I hope so (:

Just stumbled on another disguised Terri Guillemets quote, and it was so cool to read the comments thread. Abra was all over it, saying she thought right away that this author must be one of the Guillemets aliases, that they just have a distinct sound to them. I agree, but my ear is not fine-tuned enough to recognize them so fast.

So now I think I'll start posting Guillemets Pseudonym quotes on this forum thread, as I encounter them. ("The Guillemets Pseudonym" sounds like a Robert Ludlum title, doesn't it?)

                      Here's today's find:
"When I look at my hands and in my heart, I see stress as Lady Macbeth saw blood." — Berri Clove

I just solved a quote by a Cherrie Moraga and thought for sure I'd find that name on the list, but nope!
