Pause game?

Is there any way to pause the game? Sometimes I occasionally have to go do something else and then I come back to finish with a time of, like, 21,342 seconds lol.

If there was a pause feature, what would stop us from pausing our game immediately and then figuring it out on paper before resuming the game and finishing it in a few seconds? I believe that is why there is no pause feature.
