    misspelled word in quote?

    The quote when solved read:
"Winners expect to win in advance. Life is a self-fulfilling prophesy. "
    — Unattributed
However, in the dictionary the correct spelling of the last word is propheCy.
Is this a mispelled word in the quote ... or is is merely 'literary license'?

They're both correct spellings. However, it is correct to use "prophecy" as a noun and to use "prophesy" as a verb. Thus, given the context of the quote, "prophesy" is a misspelling.

Thanks banksequoia ... should have looked up both spellings ... and given it more thought ... but just took it for the noun ... and didn't think about it as a verb. Sometimes it's like my brain refused to go on thinking when it needs should ... and sometimes it just won't stop when it should!
