I know not everyone is a chatterbox like me, but I would appreciate positive thoughts and prayers for my kitty cat Q-Tip. (My current avatar kitty) He is hospitalized and very, very ill with Diabetes and Ketoacidosis. Thank you all!

I just went to see him in the hospital and he looks awful! He perked up for a minute when I called him "Tip Topper" (he has a LOT of nicknames) but he's got multiple tubes and needles in him and is extremely lethargic. On a small bright note, he no longer has a fever and his glucose level went down a little. Thanks for the prayers and best wishes. -Kat

really?
Were those your kitties? And is that an actual picture of them? Beautiful. And the names are wonderful. I especially enjoy "Eloi". I should have been an ancient Egyptian because I do believe I worship cats. Well, at least I admire them to a large degree. I think they are the most beautiful and graceful of animals. I must have been one in a past life... Thank you Bansai. I go to ICHC daily for perspective..
I do hope that tip will not be joining them anytime soon, no offense. I'd like to keep him around a while longer. But tell them to say hello to Inky..she's a love.
P.S. I got the Eloi and Twyla references, but Sandoz I will look up.

Eloi, Twyla & Sandoz
These three were felines that my ex-wife got custody of after the divorce. This was 25 years ago. They still seem very much alive to me. The picture is just an internet image. I suppose I could scan an old photograph and post it here, but the image probably wouldn't look too sharp. Nonethless, the picture I posted reminds me of the bearing, carriage and camaraderie (when they weren't fighting) that my cats shared. Eloi was named for a a race of little blue persons in HG Wells' "The Time Machine." Twyla was named for Twyla Tharp, a choreographer who worked with David Byrne and ?Billy Joel???, among others. As for Sandoz, yeah, I guess you'll have to look that up. I don't think I can imagine having three more wonderful cats in my life, but if I had three more today, I'd love them just as much. Hope everything works out for you and Q-Tip. Love, the ne'er-do-well.

my angels
I got the reference of the Eloi and Twyla, and I'm sure they meant a lot to you. Lil kitties are so unusually diverse in their personalities. Would love to see an actual pic. I am amazed at how beautiful cats can be.
I want my duck back, meaning my Tip loves water and has a tendency to "quack". (uh oh.. tearing up)
One of the reasons the diabetes went undiagnosed was because of that love of water. Diabetic cats tend to drink more than usual. He always has though. If the vets can get him to eat then he might be able to come home. But, as strange as it is, I have a chunky, picky cat. He's been offered a smorgasbord of delectable kitty type delights, but has never eaten anything but the normal food that I've given him. Go figure. Never thought a cat that DOESN'T beg for food would be a problem.
Well, if you have a pic of the trio, or any one of them I would love to see it. My stress level is up and kitties help. My other kitty (T-Bone) keeps searching the house for his nemesis. That is also a problem.
Babbling, tired. Worried. Thanks for your response!

Thank you
Thank you for your prayers Angie and the clan. That's a lot of kitty-love!
Just got back from the vet, and while he's still not eating, he's a lil perkier and was very happy to see me. They unhooked him from all the instruments and we spent a pleasant hour together in an exam room alone. He now has a nasal tube so they can get nutrients for him, but it is small and shouldn't hamper his eating when he decides to do so. Soon, I hope! I brought him in several different foods from home so we will see...
It was very good to hear him purr.

Kinda long cat story
Kat, sorry to hear about your cat. Total bummer.
I feel this is a proper platform to vent some of my own recent cat woes. Here's the story. A dirtbag neighbor of mine moved away some years ago and abandoned his cat leaving it to roam the neighborhood looking for delicious birds and a little love. This cat was a tough mofo as indicated by battle wounds, namely a screwed up lookin half ear. This feral feline was mangy as a rag but ridiculously affectionate. So I started feeding her and the next thing I knew the cat was mine. So I gave her the seemingly witty name "Picatsso" because it looked like she was missing an ear and all of my friends assured me this was a great name. After suffering spinal injuries from patting myself on the back so hard I realized that Picasso wasn't the dude who cut his ear off. Well I wasn't about to give up the name so I kept it and said it was named that because she's crazy looking like a Picasso paintings. Fast forward 2 years and about a week and a half ago Picatsso was MIA. She's never went missing for more than a day so I've come to accept she's not coming back. So that's my cat story. Sorry Kat, this story had some kind of uplifting twist in my head. This took me too long to type so I'm not gonna erase it. Time to go cat shopping. Thinkin about getting a Scottish Fold like that cat from the video who jumps in and out of that huge box. That is the cutest non-kitten cat I've ever seen

busch man
First, I am a big fan of beer. And I've had a few. (Under the circumstances, wouldn't you?) Second, I commend you on the attempt to save a lost kitty.People are mf's sometimes.
A few years ago my fiance (at the time) and I managed to save "Rusty Nails" and as you were saying, it is amazing how a rag-tag kitty can turn into the best of cats. (The ear is Van Gogh, but Picasso did some wildly random things as well.) It is truly amazing what a lil love will do for a kitty. This guy ended up so great! And now he has a person (Marine no less!) who is absolutely his owner. You know what they say, 9 lives and ending up on their feet and all....
I appreciate the feedback, any and all stories. Warms my heart knowing there are people who care.
Tip is still in the hospital, and might need a semi-permanent feeding tube inserted in his neck so he can come home. I miss him so, but it is what it is and I have to wait for him to get better.
Once again, thank you and all of you who have responded. It really makes me feel so less alone in all of this time of trouble.
