    Unlike you

Most of us are here to do cryptograms, and only chat and post as we feel moved to.

Then again, how would someone who had only completed four cryptos even know.

Oddcouple, I do appreciate your point of view – I assure you that I didn’t give up easily. I’d worked on it for almost an hour but then had to go to “real” work. If the contraction had been “you’re not” rather than “you aren’t”, I *think* I would have solved it. Also, I had considered, but discarded, the possibility of “ii”. Although I’m a newbie, out of 2,077 puzzles it’s the only one I haven’t been able to solve so far. Now, thanks to GtrZan, I have added “aren’t” to my list of possible contractions and never again will I discard “ii” as a possibility!

oddcouple, sometimes the struggle just doesn't come up with the answer. i like to know the solution, and see if i can figure out why i couldn't get it.

I've never asked for anyone's help in solving a crypto. Like looking in the back of the math book for an answer. You learn more by figuring it out yourself, even if you have to struggle.

during my many years on this site there have often been times when folks have helped someone who's stuck. There are no rules against doing so. I do think that the chat room might yield a faster response.

Thanks very much - but why shouldn't you? Is there a rule against helping out?
