  • Atoms, Adams, Tales, Tails, Story, Storey

The quote was "The universe is made up of stories, not atoms". (Muriel Rukeyser) I couldn't help but wonder if she meant Adams because surely Adam's story states clearly that the universe was all about him, and without him there would be no stories, or tales and without Eve, Adam's story would have been pretty dull, but then Eve had a tale to tell about a snake who made her aware of her tail and Adam's snake which led to more people who told their own stories until they built a tower of many storeys about which they could no longer relate in one language until science claimed to be the universal language and told us all about atoms which was an incomplete tale because atoms had to be made of something too. Didn't they? Tell me a story.

    clever!

but reading it just about wore me out, because i had to read fast, because i was sure it was meant to be read that way, but then i had to read it again because i thought i might have missed something by reading it so fast, but actually found that i hadn't. missed something.
actually i had added something, because for some reason when you said 'adams' i thought you meant douglas adams and his galaxy, but i got a whole different meaning the second time around.

Higgs Bos'n was a mate on Douglas Atoms' continuum cruiser, which was powered by an improbability
drive. They intrepidly sifted through the multiverse, trying to find out if Schrödinger Katz was
among the nonliving or the undead. Suddenly their craft was struck by a Heisen-berg! It was a
dark and stormy night of the soul.

"Oh, no!" said Higgs to Captain Atoms. "This must be the work of the nefarious Singu-Larry T!"

Captain Atoms' vessel was buffeted, battered and deep fried as it approached the radius of
Schwarzchild. The woeful mate was filled with dread and began to sing the Blues Event Horizon.

"I pity da fools," said Mr T.

Atoms deftly piloted the ship's hyperbole thrusters, but to no avail. They collided with a large
            hadron and all was lost.

You gotta love Bansai's pics... and the story was great, too. Posting what I had in mind seems like Justin Bieber taking the stage after a Led Zeppelin reunion has just ended its show Anyway... here 'tis

                "Who are you?" asked Roger.
"I am the eggman," John answered.
"Who are you?" asked Roger, again.
John, thinking Roger had perhaps not heard him, repeated, "I am the eggman."
"I really want to know... oh, who the f___ are you?!" Roger demanded.
John threw his palms up. After all, there was no need for hostilities. "I am the walrus," he finally admitted.
