In short I'm looking for ideas to finalize a puzzle/cypher booklet I'm making for student entertainment during a 10 hour trip to Berlin. I already have a general idea (explained below) and most of the puzzles but could use some inspiration for the last puzzles.
So the concept is a puzzle book consisting of a series (10) puzzles and cyphers that can be partially solved as individual puzzles but can also be fully solved in series. The booklet is intended for Belgian master engineering students electromechanics. Here is the current Idea:
So there are 10 puzzles in total.
So I'm looking for inspiration for puzzles 7 to 9. They may be logical puzzles like a binary puzzle, which I think I might use for the number 2004. I would be nice if the puzzle's are linked in some way. I was also looking at some graph based logical puzzle in which a network of weighted nodes and links that can be traversed in only one way using a series of logial rules and for example 2004 as an input.
Any ideas?

So there are 10 puzzles in total.
- The first one are 16 questions about Berlin delivering a sequence of letters A and B representing morse code for the word “Berlijn”. But that the answer is encoded in morse code is not given directly. They can find that out by solving puzzle two.
- The second puzzle is a word search puzzle with words about industrial automation. When all words are crossed out, the remaining letters form the Hint “Morse Code”.
- The third puzzle requires the word “Berlijn” in a translatable column puzzle. When they arrange the columns with letters in alphabetical order of the word berlijn, they can read a sentence saying there is a code hidden in the sudoku that must be read from right to left.
- Puzzle 4 they need to solve the sudoku which gives them a six digit code. On the same page they will find a table with numbers 1 to 9 accompanied with a binary number. At the back of the booklet they can find an ascii table to convert the binary numbers to letters. Resulting in the word "Impuls". The word "impuls" is the key to puzzle 6. What they don’t know at that time. They first need to solve puzzle five for that.
- The fifth puzzle is a regular crossword puzzle with engineering questions. The result of the crossword puzzle is “polybius Vierkant” polybius square. So they know that puzzle 6 is a polybius square.
- For puzzle six, they then fill out the square and solve the sequence of codes to the word “elektriciteitscentrale” or electricity plant.
- Now I need puzzles 7 to 9 giving them the remaining words "2004" and "techno".
- Then they come to the final puzzle 10. Which is a vigenère cypher. From the words: Berlin, Electricity plant, 2004 and Techno they need to find the key of the Cypher (Berghain). With this key they can decode the final message....
