Am wondering what strategies folks have for this?

So far it feels fairly random, and I haven't come up with many strategies to get past the random.

I feel like if I can get enough hearts and use them wisely, that will bring more hearts and will keep the board "tight", as in generally the same 3 or 4 tiles. But haven't quite got the knack for it.

Would love to know what you all have come up with.

While the tiles you get are random, there are some basic strategies that will help you get to the higher levels.

1. Always target the leveler tiles first. Higher levels = more points per match.

2. Keep an eye open for potential 5-tile matches that result in a Rainbow tile. This is by far the most powerful tile in the game, as the Rainbow tile clears ALL tiles of a certain color (including the leveler tile, regardless of its number). Save these for when you get a high-number leveler tile in a really tough spot, as it can clear it instantly in a single turn. An added benefit is that after a Rainbow tile is used, the concentration level of the remaining 5 colors on the board is increased, which increases your odds of more 4- and 5-tile matches.

Pro-tip: if you hit the Rainbow tile with a special tile action (heart, star, vertical or horizontal laser) it will automatically clear whatever color the current leveler tile is on. This is helpful when you want to clear a leveler but you can't quite get its color tile adjacent to your Rainbow tile.

3. Heart tiles (as you've found) are also very powerful, as they can "single-shot" leveler tiles of any number, if they are within the Heart tile's "blast radius".

4. Be sure to use the Rotate tile when your leveler tile gets stuck at or near the bottom of the grid, or if you see a potentially advantageous move that "backwards gravity" would help you make.

5. Store up as many special tiles as you can... hearts, stars, vertical/horizontal laser, rainbow tiles are all going to help you later on in the game when you get a leveler tile in a tight spot.
