    Welcome to the new site!!

Welcome to our newest site.... Slitherlinks!

As always with any new site there are bound to be unforeseen issues/bugs in the initial code. If and when you find one of these bugs please post them here or email to puzzlebaron@gmail.com - screenshots are always very helpful when debugging.

    Thanks as always!

    Stephen

Great so far! Are there any plans to have a hints/strategies page like exist on Logic Puzzles and Sudoku? I really learned to solve those sorts of puzzles through the tutorial pages on those sites.

Also, I think it would be helpful if the incorrect edges hint removed the edges for us (which is what I've been used to when playing other PuzzleBaron games).

Found 1 bug so far - when the Hint reports there is an incorrect edge marked, it neither highlights the incorrect edge, nor removes it. I would prefer it just remove it because in the larger grid, the edges are pretty small and it could be difficult to identify a briefly highlighted edge.

I agree with mybluedecember. I like to new puzzle so far, but please change the Hint to remove the incorrect lines. I just racked up +1260s pressing the hint button several times to catch the incorrect lines as I learn this new puzzle.

Thanks for continuing to create new and interesting puzzles, Stephen!

Thanks for the feedback - I agree, and will add auto removal of incorrect lines to the next release. Also will see about putting together a tutorial.

Slitherlinks has stopped working for me! When I left-click on the gray area between two dots, no line appears. For some reason, an X does appear when I left-click. I miss the game!

On touch enabled devices there are buttons below the game that dictate whether a tap sets a line or an x. Is it possible that button has been toggled to X on your device? That would then be the expected behavior.

Fun! Would you consider something between 5x5 and 10x10? I don't know how much work that would be...anyway, having fun as-is.

Loving the game so far! After playing about 200 games, I have a few thoughts:
                • Is it possible to alter the bell curve data points for the 10x10 puzzles? I understand there aren't enough player times to create accurate averages to give better points yet, but I've done a mix of games at different sizes and levels and some of the 10x10 puzzles with no completion data and preset averages in the 2-3 minute range are just a little too fast and give little to no points for completion. To be fair, I'm not familiar with how you set up your curves, so its possible that this will just work itself out shortly.
                • I agree with the above comments about needing changes to the hint function. In games like Star Battle, the hints provide enough detail that we can learn from it and apply the logic to similar situations, and the hints remain on the screen when you make changes to the puzzle. Since I'm still learning the mechanics of Slitherlink, I've had issues connecting the dots (lol) between the relatively brief hints and the strategies behind them. The hints in Slitherlink also go away when you start to make changes which just makes it that much more difficult to learn the mechanics.
                • Lastly, I think hint penalties are currently set too big. I just fact-checked myself, and they're currently set for 60 seconds. Most of these games (at least that I've seen) have averages currently set for ~3 minutes, so even using one hint will push most players into the slow side of the curve.
All on the competitive side, but really awesome as is for casual playing!
