Visual aids for beginners

It would be handy for me to have a few highlights added to this game. You would probably want to be able to toggle them on and off for seasoned players:

1) some sort of visual cue when the correct number of stars are selected in a row. Maybe margin numbers that show the current number of stars, with a color cue when it is the correct total.

2) ditto for columns

3) a visual cue when a shape has the correct number of stars. Maybe grey out the shapes’ color or something.

YMMV, but this would help me a lot. You could even make the use of these features a disqualifier for any records.

Ohh, or a "lock feature" if a star is in the correct place with a possible auto gray out of the column/row. Maybe a separate tutorial/training/beginner's section altogether.

I like the idea of adding visual cues, especially for newer players. Toggling them on/off is key so it doesn’t mess with seasoned play.
