I don’t understand this hint

I am just starting to play 2 star games, so I am using the hint feature often. I don’t understand this hint, as I believe that even if the star is placed in the marked spot, orange Shape B could still get two stars - in Row 1, Column 2 and Row 3, Column 2.

What am I missing?

Yes, but you already have a star in that column (pink). So you would end up with 3 stars.
