Is there a pause function for star battle?

I’m new here and I love playing star battle. The problem is I often get interrupted by things I need to attend to and want to know if I can pause the timer / current game. Currently the timer just runs and I get a low score after completion. if anybody can tell me what to do that would be great!

A pause would ruin the game because people could pause and complete the puzzle then just instantly solve it. Even if they made it so when you pause you couldnt see the puzzel people could still take screenshots or record it or something to get around that.

There could be a function in which a panel of some sort could cover the puzzle when the (proposed) pause button was pressed, preventing the player from seeing the puzzle and therefore solving it while paused.

I have the same issue; I play during the work day and get interrupted since, obviously, I'm working.

Covering or hiding the puzzle wouldn't help: as AnthC1 already noted, it could easily be gotten around by taking a screenshot before hitting "pause".
