Fix Errors Clearing non-changeable boxes?

Just an update... A complete overhaul of the Sudoku site is currently in progress. This issue will be a part of that project.

I'm having the same issue, guess it's probably not ever going to get fixed though - when I hit "fix errors" it takes out my pencil markings that I use to annotate things... This defeats the purpose of the pencil markings.

Please fix this. It is so frustrating when I find that my "errors" are the pencil marks I've made to help me figure out the puzzle. I mean how can it count these as errors BEFORE you commit a number to a box?

I know this is an old post but I'm seeing a similar error--I will click "check errors" and it will clear boxes that only have pencil marks in them, so I can have put very few actual numbers in and get like 35 errors.

Sorry for the late reply - I have a suspicion what might have been causing this issue and have added code now to hopefully fix it. Please let me know if you continue to see this happening.

Hasn't happened lately (which probably means that it will in 20 seconds) so maybe you fixed it. Thanks.

chrome user with exact same problem. might be issues with input but I wouldn't know
(edit: like. internal input and what the game registers it as. not *your* problem)

Same thing. Nearly complete, click fix errors, and all the sudden I have 70 errors including the non changeable boxes.

I've had the same issue on edge and brave, so I don't think its related to browsers
