And you can RETAIN and even RETAINER but you can't TAIN. And you can RETILE and TILER but can't RETILER. But you can RETAILER at least.😀 1 -
Similar to -less, I'm often surprised and amused by what you can and cannot "re" do. If you open a present and want to give it away, you can repackage, rewrap, readdress and regift it, but you cannot "rebox" it!Leave a comment:

I saw ABSENTMINDEDNESSES but I forgot to enter it in.
(I did get unadorned MINDEDNESSES.)Last edited by BoggleOtaku; 08-25-2025, 09:43 AM.😀 2👍 1Leave a comment:

Reptiles and birds rejoice; TEATLESS is accepted. TREATLESS, however, is not. It's all a mystery to me.Leave a comment:

Words are fun. Doglees, catless, birdless are all valid.
My favorite is toadless. Of course I'm biased since that's my long deceased pet toad in my avatar : )👍 2Leave a comment:

I know this is really not surprising any more in light of the other -LESS words that count, but PIGLESS scores points.Leave a comment:

Managed to guess EDENTULOUSNESSES.
In keeping with the theme, that's toothless.Last edited by BoggleOtaku; 08-23-2025, 12:37 PM.👍 2Leave a comment:

I didn't know that one, but I have played "ympe" a couple times. I think your word is even harder to spot. Great job (again).Leave a comment:

So... I don't actually have a very large active vocabulary, I just know a good number of prefixes, suffixes, and Latin and Greek root words, and occasionally manage to cobble together something good.
I just found the word "lithology" in a 4x4 - study of rocks, pretty straightforward, I thought, and then I noticed the prefix "aero" just sitting there next to it.
Long story short, AEROLITHOLOGY is an acceptable word, referring to the study of meteorites. Makes sense, but I wasn't actually expecting the combination to work!Leave a comment:
