How many boards?

Does anyone know how many total boards are in play at any given time? Clearly it's a lot :-)

For 5x5 boards, it's currently about 56000. If you view the page source of the "Prepare to Play 5x5!" page, you can find a line that looks something like "< ! - - | 521688 | 506761 - - >" (without the spaces). Each board has two numbers associated with it, and they both range between about 500000 and about 556000. They used to be in the range from about 200000 to 230000, but that changed when the new boards were introduced in February. I haven't played enough games since then to give more exact numbers, and I have no information about the 4x4 boards.
