    "Flowers for Algernon"

This morning I felt like Charley Gordon, in the short story "Flowers for Algernon". For a short period of time I ripped through about a dozen games, scoring well above my average. I also scored over 700 points which I have only done a few times. That 700+ point game was "pure". No typos, no typing non-existent words, no pauses. After those twelve or so games, I slowly came back to Earth. Then for about ten games I was scoring about 70 points below my average. I turned off my computer. This afternoon I am back to my "normal" level of play. That was quite run I had this morning for those thirty minutes or so.

Athletes call it "being in the zone". For us normal people it doesn't happen often. Congratulations!
