I too am sorry for your loss. May I add a thought? You did have 59 years together, so that's amazing! While your best friend is no longer by your side, she's still in your heart and her thoughts will forever comfort you whenever you need them.

59 years of a beautiful gift. I'm very sorry for her loss. May you and the children you shared keep the light of her love in your hearts.

Sorry for you loss. A beautiful poem; a family portrait in verse.

I am so sorry for your loss, Bruce.
I've always liked this quote: “Grief is love's souvenir.” I wasn't sure where it came from, so I just looked it up. I found the longer version of the quote and another wonderful one. I hope I'm not overstepping by sharing them with you:

“Grief is love's souvenir. It's our proof that we once loved. Grief is the receipt we wave in the air that says to the world: Look! Love was once mine. I love well. Here is my proof that I paid the price.”
          Glennon Doyle Melton,

“You will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news. They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up. And you come through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly—that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp.”
          Anne Lamott

            Bwt1213,
When my wife (Seamonster) and I read your news, she posted "I am so sorry for your loss" we were both at a loss for more eloquent words. I still am. Like yourself, Naboka and others here, time is not in my favor. But I am moved to tears and awe by the posts of Naboka, littlemarph, and most of all you. Thank You for sharing your poem. It is beautiful.
