Would scrolling down to hide it work? -
On my computer, the banner is above the grid of letters. By scrolling down I can make it disappear off the top of the window. Or I can magnify the grid so it fills the whole screen. (On a Mac I use command-option-+ to do that, or hold the control key and use the mouse wheel. I think there's something similar in Windows.)Comment

Different people have very different brains! I hadn't even noticed the banner until I saw this thread - then I went back and sure enough, there it was.
When I'm concentrating on the board, I don't register anything else. You'd think that kind of focus would lead to high scores, but it is rare indeed for me to score more than RussDNails - it might have happened 2-3 times ever. One such time was just a couple of days ago - maybe the ad distracted him

I haven't outscored him in more than a year, probably more than 2 years. I did come close about 6 months ago and fell maybe 20 points short. But I had to score about 900 to do it, and in 90 words or less. It's so few words because I have to do the ultra-rare and long words to build a high score. I can't do what some players do and type 180 ordinary words, and TBF nor does Russ, but he can type better than I can and it's obvious.Different people have very different brains!
