    Healthy?

Just got out of the hospital (clots in lungs). BUT: I'd been having other problems before this, and when I got home they were all resolved. Swollen ankles? Gone on the left, almost gone on the right. Digestive issues? Nope. Lost fluid as though I'd been given lasix, but I hadn't been. Even my tremors are almost gone. I was given no antibiotics at any time, and except for the clot-buster meds, I took only my usual medications. Is this a common thing? Is this indicative of a problem I'd better think about?

Whoa. Did they tell you the reason for the clots, and the water retention? Did they indicate any further treatment or checks?

That sounds pretty serious. My father had clots in his lungs in the 90s. He eventually had to go on oxygen and the doctors in Canada told him he had only a few months to live unless the Healthcare system here would approve surgery for him in the United States as they didn't do it in Canada then. Luckily for us it was approved and he lived about 30 more years. He had a blood clotting disorder that caused them and needed to be on blood thinners the rest of his life. You definitely need to find out what is causing this as blood clots can be life threatening.

Best anyone can figure, since I'd been feeling unwell for months I was too sedentary and that caused the clots. I had severe digestive problems, which led to me feeling bad and having no energy. But pretty much everything bad is gone. I've lost about 5 pounds of water weight. I'll be seeing my doctor on Monday for a follow-up. I'm going to be on anti-coagulants for at least three months. I feel better than I have in years.

Sounds like prayers were said for your healing

I pray that your follow-up visits continue to be positive and that you continue to feel better that you have in a long time

Speedy recovery! I hope this is just a bump in the road and you make a full recovery.

Hey, bwt - it has been a long time since I have been hanging out here with my wordtwist buddies. I am so sorry you have been feeling so unwell. some of the lack of energy could have been from those small clots not allowing enough oxygen to your tissues. It sounds like the anticoagulants really helped! Now get walking! Not too much at first, but get going, keep going, and feel better!! Sending healing thoughts your way!

I keep feeling better, guys. When I was in the hospital, my BP was 180+ over 85 all the time. I took it this morning: 126/73. I keep losing water wei9ht and I'm down to 216 from yesterday's 219. A week ago, I weighed 228. I feel great, and I feel really lucky.

Thanks, everyone, for all the good wishes. Now I just have to get back to playing the game regularly again.
