Are there still multiplayer games with opponent names, chat, and custom rooms?

I tried a game after having not used the site for years and it seems like it used to have other players listed, and chat, and a lobby to wait for rooms, and what I see now looks like s single player game with no social aspect. Am I just missing something?

I used to have a premium account, but apparently I've been away long enough that my account was deleted.

I think you may be thinking of a different game. Apart from some technical changes to the game boards, Wordtwist has stayed largely the same in the years that I've been playing.
I did try a different game with mechanics similar to what you described, but I didn't enjoy it as much. I don't remember what it was called.

      Maybe:

      bogglewizard.net
      serpentinegame.com
      Boggle With Friends (zynga) (ios/android)
      Boggle: Arcade Edition (ios/android)
MS Wordament (but this just had continued play for everyone, no lobby)

Lexulous . com offers some of those features, but the only game is Scrabble. I only logged in a few times to get a thoroughl drubbing.

I think the one I tried was called Ruzzle.

I've played MS Wordament, its a fun game. Its not multi-player. Its single player (like this site). I played it on Microsoft's game site.

I played Wordament on my Microsoft phone, and it died with the phone (thus my past tense). I didn't know it was still on their website, thanks for replying.

Original Wordament on Windows Phone had “same board, same timer” competition as main appeal
                • Released around 2011–2012, built as a massively multiplayer online word game (MMOWPG or “You vs the Internet”).
                • Everyone (hundreds or thousands of other players worldwide) played the same board at the same time in short, continuous real-time rounds (typically a couple of minutes).
                • Features included live leaderboards (global, friends/“Frenemies”), Xbox Live integration (achievements/gamerscore), scheduled/live games, and seeing words others found that you missed.
A web/beta version appeared later (around 2013) that still exists on Microsoft’s casual games site / MSN Zone (zone.msn.com).
                • The current web experience focuses more on single-player elements: Daily Challenges, adventure maps/puzzles with stars, high-score competition, and general word-finding on the 4x4 grid.
