Board Orientation.....

Anybody ever notice if the boards on Wordtwist are presented in the same orientation each time they appear? I.e. If I play board X today and happen upon it again tomorrow will it be in exactly the same orientation or could the same board appear rotated to a different position?

I've been here quite a while and have never been able to figure this out.

I suspect that the boards do appear in different rotatational orientation each time they get recycled?

I guess I haven't really paid too much attention, but the times I've been able to recognize a board I've played recently, orientation is as I remember it. That happens often enough that I'd expect that if orientation is random, I should have run across three times as many of these "repeats" with different orientations. Of course it's possible that I just don't recognize any of these, but I go for long ultra-rare words (generally 20+ letters) and I should at least have noticed those words repeating if they're there.

By the way, my answer really only addresses the case where I run across the same board in the same incarnation, usually on the same day. My memory isn't good enough to say anything about whether orientation changes after recycling.

I think part of it is I play a lot and there's a lot of word frequency overlap between boards. I.e. a lot of the grids contain the same words so I might play board X and then board Y might have 10 or 12 of the same words. It just kind of popped into my mind one evening and thought about whether the boards are always presented in the same orientation........I think I've seen instances where they are rotated the next time I see them. I'd have to guess the admin knows the answer to this so maybe if he sees this he'll give a definitive yes or no answer.....
