  • "A multitude of rulers is not a good thing. Let there be one ruler, one king."

I wonder what Homer would make of the President and his cabinet, the Supreme Court and the 500+ members of Congress. Not to mention the governments of states, which have their own executive, judicial and legislative branches. And let's not forget the Yoknapatawpha County Dog Catcher. (Sorry if you're from Canada, Australia, the UK and parts elsewhere--didn't mean to seem ethnocentric)

No, it's simple to try and teach the multitude that something can be true and untrue at the same time. But, you're right.

I've been searching Google Images, but I can't find a photo of a smiling philosopher. Certainly not Jean-Paul Sartre, Bertrand Russell or Ludwig Wittgenstein.

Sure. Oprah takes the bus when her limo breaks down. And I have to pilot the space shuttle when the matter/antimatter reintegrator pods have bollixed up the dilithium crystals on my starship.

But they can get their owners to open them. Cats have evolved subtle talents for getting humans to supply them with all their needs. Just think of all the human effort that went into getting that can of food to that cat.
