This is from Moby Dick, and there should be a possesive apostrophe after the last "s" in Vesuvius.

This is from Moby Dick Chapter 104. There should be a possessive apostrophe after the last "s" in Vesuvius.

I don't appreciate them now, but everybody knows who they are. Maybe, one day, John Corigliano will be a name as readily recognized as Beethoven or Mozart.

John Corigliano? You mean the Pulitzer Prize-winning classical composer?

Earl Warren passed away in 1974. Imagine if he were alive today with cell phones, the internet, webcams. For decades in the US, corporations have had the right to have security personnel view your body through a two-way mirror in a clothing store fitting room. Wherever we go, whether it be an ATM or a gas station, there are surveillance cameras taking pictures of us unbeknownst to us, without our consent. Unfortunately, today, the average American knows "Big Brother" as a reality TV show.
