  • Ads out of control

There's something that has been bothering me lately, just started happening today - the ads on the site have started automatically popping up into a new tab, it's very annoying and I don't know if I'm the only person or is this happening to everyone?

Sorry about that miranda - we're having a weird issue with our ad management provider that is causing this to happen for some users. I've bumped you up to premium status (no ads) for 1 week free of charge to fix the problem for you immediately while we figure it out. In the meantime can you let me know what browser/operating system you're using?
If you enjoy our puzzles, please consider upgrading to a premium account to remove all ads and help support us financially. Thanks for your support!

Yes, I have the same experience. Sometimes it's an actual ad, but sometimes it's just a white screen with the URL ad.doubleclick.net. I'm also on a Chromebook by the way

Oh- and the ads often pop up in groups, like two to four tabs of ads open at once and it gets annoying to close them all.

Thanks again everyone - just an update, our ad management company is actively investigating the issue as we speak and I'm hoping for an ETA on a fix soon. In the meantime keep posting here if you're experiencing problems with our ads and I will bump your account up to premium (ad free) for a week free of charge to fix the problem for you immediately. Apologies again, this has been hugely frustrating for all involved.

Same here. It's becoming intolerable. Thought I had malware on my PC lol.

Apologies again everyone. Our ad management company says they believe they've found the culprit and they are in the process of removing them from our network. In the meantime I'm continuing to upgrade anyone who has this problem to premium (ad free) for 1 week to fix the problem for you immediately.

Hi, whenever I start a puzzle it takes some seconds before I can start typing due to ads. Ads popping up in a new window have been happening as well.
I have tried Safari and Chrome on different computers and it's still laggy. Thank you!

I've also noticed the ads being bad, at times I'll have a car ad cover the entire bottom of my screen. Hope this gets fixed soon! Edit: I just played a few puzzles and it doesn't seem to be as bad as it was before. : )
