    Okay

They seem like sound choices to me.

Johnny Mercer, for sure, come rain or come shine.

      Jane Austen

A woman especially, if she have the misfortune of knowing anything,
should conceal it as well as she can.
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession
of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.
And ditch Jack Handey's deep verbose thoughts.

        post some funny quotes

Maybe the site administrator could post some really funny quotes by say...people like Harpo Marx, dan Quayle.

There are some really funny quotes by great statesmen like De Gaulle when he gave this comment on the eve of his visit to China-

"China is a vast country inhabited by many Chinese."

OR an Australian Trade Minister who once said-

"Traditionally most of Australia's imports have come from overseas"

Solving a cryptogram and smiling at the end of it would be nice.

          funny quotes Harpo Marx

Two quotes by Harpo Marx come to mind-

"The recent reports of my death are vastly exaggerated."

"I refuse to join any club that will have me as a member."

That should make some of OUR members smile.

            Why not

JCarlos, quotes by Joseph Stiglitz sounds like a good idea to me. I think he'd make a worthy addition to this site.

"If stability and efficiency required that there existed markets that extended infinitely far into the future - and these markets clearly did not exist - what assurance do we have of the stability and efficiency of the capitalist system?"--Joseph Stiglitz

Spellbinder, you'll be glad to know that one of your Marx quotes is already used on this site.

"I refuse to join any club that will have me as a member."

Actually, this quote was said by Groucho and not Harpo. Some of the most famous Harpo Marx quotes include:

            "[loud, shrill whistling]"

            and

            "[blows antique auto horn]"

I wish to make a change

For my threeple peeple and take out Bugs, and put in Don Cherry.
In keeping with my Canadian themed choices.

“I think the people, the working-man people, made a statement here, that you don't have to be a college graduate to be a good Canadian.”

And YES that is how he dresses. Its not a gag picture.

I wish to make a change

I don't know who this Canadian is, but there's definitely a Great American named Don Cherry. He first came to fame when he played with Ornette Coleman in 1958. Everyone should dig this crazy cat.

                  Our Don Cherry

Or the "Grapes" as he is sometimes referred, was a coach for the Boston Bruins and has been a long time hockey commentator for Hockey Night in Canada.

He would be a comical and unique addition to our crypto puzzle database.

On who should have been the game's three stars in a particularly bad hockey game:
"No. 1 - the Zamboni driver. No. 2 - an usher. No 3. - a guy selling popcorn."
