These are fun; I don't think I've done any of these puzzles before.

If I could make a suggestion with this and the Kakuro puzzles... I find it tedious to constantly switch between pencil and pen mode. It would be easier if there was no mode. If there was just one number in the box, it was considered my answer for that spot. And if I added another number, it would revert to the smaller tracking numbers.

The hints are a bit useless once you start making marks. For example, I just got a hint that says "You've eliminated the correct candidate from your pencil marks at row 3, column 4. Add 4 back before asking for another hint. (+60s penalty)". I hadn't eliminated it at all! I was using the pencil marks for my own internal process.

Can you post a screenshot of a situation where that happened for you? I just tried to replicate it on a few puzzles and wasn't able. Thanks!

Here's an example - it looks like the game is assuming that if I've filled in ANY pencil markings in a cell, I must have wanted to fill in ALL possible markings.

Ah yes, that's how the pencil markings work with the hint engine. Maybe I can add a flag/option that allows users to use hints that ignore pencil markings in the future.

One other suggestion. It would be nice if there were a way to highlight all the pencil marks of a certain number. That way, we could see patterns emerge that would be very helpful.

If the redesign required to eliminate toggling between pencil/pen mode is undesirable, maybe auto-eliminate matching pencil marks when a pen is made in the same column/row?

I like these, but I'm thinking 25% of my time could be eliminated with interface improvements along these lines.

                Is this done in React?
