I haven't posted much before, but I thought this was worth a mention in this thread. There are several ways to play this game as everybody knows. I am a lousy typist, so going for the most words or the most points is silly in my case. I play for the record longest word. Early on, I recognized that a 16- or 15-letter ward was a record that could not be broken, so I started keeping track of the ones I found. It's easier to find a 16-letter word if you know that there is one, so I never play boards where somebody else has such a record, and I don't repeat my own 15- or 16-letter words either - always a "clean" board. I just reached my goal - 1,000 15- and 16-letter words! Now the plan is to spend less time on this game....

It might seem odd to consider 236 points and 49 words an accomplishment, but there were only 53 words in this board. I think for sure that's my highest proportion of words found to words available.

Seemed like a milestone worth remembering . 15 years and 30,000 games.

Saw that lalatan had gotten a 16/30 word so was looking for it first. Found it quickly enough to run off a string of red (UR) words. More often than not, if I look for the longest word first I end up running out of time and dump the board.

Part of a healthy mindset is to do onto others, and I've always appreciated hints, strategies and helps that other players have offered, so ...

Here's another red board with the twist that the list begins with a 16/30. Most of these are common and wide UR words. You're just gonna run into them over and over and over, so it's good to have them memorized if getting higher scores is important.

I mistyped a few that didn't show up, like ritts, ritting, stinge, tinger, retime and retimes. They show up a lot also.

Very nice. We are always our own best opponents. Every board brings a challenge.

Just set a personal record for words found (110, beating my prior record of 98). Still trying to beat my best score, 445.

Thank you, bwt. You are an amazing player and it wouldn't surprise me if you bested my best.

I feel a bit silly posting this considering the recent aforementioned accomplishments, but I bested my all time high score playing 5X5 this evening. Happy Friday, all.

    Total points: 1070 New record!
    Total words: 125 (25 common,17 wide,9 rare,74 ultra rare) New record!

Well I have to wonder if there was something distracting MegaWord, but for the first time I beat his high score. First time I think - hopefully not the last.

I don't play 5 by 5 very much, but I don't think I've gotten over a 1000 when I have played it. Even in 6 by 6, it's hard for me to get over a 1000. Great job again - I look forward to getting half as much someday.
