Am I getting better at this game? Well, maybe in one way, but I certainly won't set any records for "Total points" or "Total words"! My most recent Best/Longest word is not in lexic.us, but it is in Wiktionary = "one who is looked at"

Oooh, I just beat a points record while undercutting the total words by 34 words! And that's after it had been played 22 times.

Total points: 547 New record!
Total words: 75 (27 common,11 wide,10 rare,27 ultra rare)

I was just lucky in that I found some really high-scoring words without really trying, but it's a nice result all the same! My personal best this month, and I think my second-best result ever.

Also, since when does the result show the rarity categories after the total word count? Or have I simply been ignoring this?

Actually, I must have misspoke. My personal records page shows I got 951 last month. I already don't remember it. That's probably a symptom of something. But I am sure that I never got over 900 any other times.

No, this game I displayed is my all-time high. The previous high I posted a few weeks ago beat my all-time record by 100 points. I've been playing for about ten years, so it was a big bump. Thanks for the congratulations. And thanks to Jedmedgrey, too (I don't think I'd even have found "maudlinnesses"). My hand problems haven't been cured, but concentrating on high-point and extra-rare words allows me to get really high points-per-word scores on the 5x5 game. As usual, though, near the end of the game my fingers got all tied up and I typed the same nice word five times without getting it right even once as time ran out. I should have been capable of at least 90 words on this board.

An average of 12.19 points per word. If I could just type a little better, I'd have cracked 1000. There's always another board!

Have you hit 1,000 points before? Guess I could find out without asking, but the lazy bones in the skull...

On another note: just one of the head scratchers of Wortwist. Played this game before breakfast. Came back up this afternoon playing a few while waiting for the wife to get ready. Sure can be a benefit having seen a board again that soon. Had the advantage of knowing not to waste time trying longer wods that just weren't there.

Maybe I should just give up trying to plug in long words altogether.
