Just found AFAR on a game with 50 plays - odd finding such a short one

I don't know how this was missed for so long. (JK, I know it's a weird word.)
I'm almost certain I learned this word from my esteemed fellow long word hunter, Spike1007, probably 2 years ago.

Shorter ones seem to be my forte. I have a few weird little words up my sleeve.

I've been playing for a few years now. Not finding the huge multi-syllabic like many others, which doesn't bother me. What does bother me are seeing words not necessarily of the English language, or usage. Can't come up with one just now, but I know I've seen some defined as, for example, the name of an Egyptian tree found only on t he banks of the Nile. Who uses that in conversation? I have, however, gained peace of mind by discovering here on the chats that players may only play one word! So when I see more words than I can get, and bigger, I find that they would not necessarily, or even usually, be by the same player! What a relief.

Indeed, a short and fairly common word! But I've noticed that words starting with vowels do tend to get overlooked.

I just played a board that had been played just ONCE before, and got only six new words, only three of which were more than 5 points. I actually didn't care too much, because the previous player had scored 894 and I got 705. So, a new challenge for everyone: Did you ever play a board on which you achieved the high score and had NO new words?

On a game with 50 plays, I got EVIRATE (12 pts.) which was a new record for high-scoring word!

Oooh, finally I got something worth mentioning in this thread.
Found a board that had been played 50 times, and all the words starting with "sediment" showed up in green.
