    Server drop outs

Often (too often) I'm experiencing server drop outs, doesn't matter whether I'm on my tablet or desktop.

This happens at the end of the game when your result/time is loaded, instead I get a lost connection with server message, At this point I have 2 options either I refresh, but then I 'miss' the game hence my less than 100% completion (I always complete a game) and then an error message loads. Or I go back and then refresh in which case I can do the puzzle again BUT the time is additive... Both options are a little frustrating.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Can this be rectified? Is it my end? If so, is there anything I can check to help the situation. I do not believe I experience this with other puzzles on Puzzle Baron.

Love this game - thank you!

Yes, I'm experiencing it. I've had it happen with other puzzles as well, but it seems fairly frequent with the bridge puzzles. I haven't found any kind of workaround.

      Hi Wassina -

When you say "instead I get a lost connection with server message" - can you post the exact server message? I don't see any failures in our server logs, which tends to suggest it could be a problem with your local connection. Are you playing on a mobile device (using cellular data) or over a wifi network?

Also, when a game post to gameover.php fails - you should be able to just click your browser's Refresh button on that gameover.php page and it should try to resubmit the game. Does that also not work?

        Hi

Thanks for getting back to me. Next time it happens I will take a screen shot and send to you. Regarding the browser refresh button I just get an error message with a link to start a new game… so the previous is forfeited. I’ll also take a screen shot and get back to you.

Here are screenshots of the page that I get when I finish a puzzle but have some kind of drop while it tries to submit and also the page I get when I refresh/reload.

            Thanks littlered!

It's interesting that you're on iPad as there are some special ways iOS handles "keep alive" connections that may be in play here.

I've made some changes to the code base now that I hope will improve this for you - please let me know if you experience this drop out again.
