                    Except that science is based on verifiable facts and religious beliefs are not. As for me, I do not accept anything based on insufficient evidence.

                    Well said. iltquilt. Brault commits the error of using the same definition of "belief" in two different contexts. Religious belief is acceptance without proof, whereas scientific belief denotes sufficient confidence in the supporting evidence to accept as the best explanation at this time.

                    If there were a god(dess) who expected us to accept her/his beliefs, why would such a deity believe that s/he would need to hide to her/his presence from all of humanity? Why not reveal her/his self to everyone on Planet Earth so that all religious differences would be resolved? Why not tell all the planet that "I am the god(dess) of all people on the planet? Why would s/he refuse to reveal his/her self?
