Who cares if you solve the puzzles quickly or not? Isn't the secret prize being illuminated by a great quote? If a cryptogram is a box of Cracker Jacks, the caramel coated popcorn, peanuts and a prize here are the quote itself, and your written response to it. What if the quote you got today was so great, you changed your mind, that changed your life, and you changed the world for the better, forever? Wouldn't that be better than beating bansaisequoia by two shakes of a rabbit's tail?

I think I Ching has a wealthy sibling named Kuh Ching. And an overbearing mom named Wa Ching. A flea-ridden dog named It Ching? How about a knighted ancestor explorer named Sir Ching. His beautiful wife is Feh Ching, and his talented artist sister is Skeh Ching. And don't forget his fisherman dad, Kaa Ching.

I think semaphore, smoke signals and Pictionary are probably a little slower.

Really? What about leaving comments on a thread that you only get back to randomly--maybe in year or so, or maybe never--to find out how people responded to what you said?

kahvecowgirl is definitely the winner. When I first came to this site, it always made me think of putting a message in a bottle.

Everything / population / popularity -- I wonder how many other words fit that letter pattern.

thanks, LLapp, I had the same crypto-question. I automatically filled in 'everything' only to be horrified by how the quote was filling in.

I did the same thing...everything/population etc. But I feel good knowing that I'm with the "smarts" crowd.

Well, I guess we've learned that popularity isn't everything!

Eureka, thank you for posting this one! No, I never did get back to that quote.
Gosh, I'm so humbled . . . . and I can't find the speech I wrote . . . . and I don't have my reading glasses . . .
And I'll take a copy of Munchlet's book too. This is wonderful.

And now, folks, it's time for a special award. LLapp, please come up to the podium, if you would. Is she in the audience? I don't see her. Oh, there she is! Yes, I see her in the back, she's making her way down the aisle now. Folks, for those of you who are listening at home, I'm sorry you can't see this scene before me. There's abra blowing LLapp a kiss, and montyb giving a jaunty salute in her direction as LLapp comes toward the stage. And here she is, shaking hands with maradnu and gryhnd51 as she comes forward. Please, folks, please, let's have a little quiet here, let's settle down ... shh, shh.... LLapp, on behalf of the Cryptograms Commentators Committee of the Smartass Solvers Society, may I present you with this Trophy for Not Saying Something Political. Folks, listen to that cheering. Cameras are flashing and confetti is raining down -- wait, it's not ordinary confetti, it's thousands of Oxford commas in the air around LLapp as she holds the trophy high. What athleticism! That trophy's gotta weigh 35 pounds there, and she hoists it in one hand like it's nothing. Wow, her cross-training with, I'm told, Fowler's Modern English Usage and the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition, has really paid off! Amazing!

abra, I don't think it will help him at this point. We can start a Go Fund Me page to have his casket moved from Argentina to Italy. He was born in Conflenti, Italy.
